2022 Mount Edelstone Shiraz
Drawn from the historic 16-hectare vineyard in Eden Valley, planted predominantly to ancient pre-phylloxera Shiraz vines, Mount Edelstone occupies a special place in Australian wine history. The original 1952 bottling was a pioneering single-vineyard wine at a time when such concepts were virtually unheard of in Australia.
The 2022 release is a fitting tribute to that legacy. Deeply perfumed yet finely detailed, it delivers layers of blackberry, plum, sage, spice and floral complexity with extraordinary elegance and composure.
What defines this vintage is its balance. The cooler conditions have brought exceptional freshness and clarity to the wine, while the old vines provide depth, texture and quiet power beneath the surface. It is unmistakably Mount Edelstone — profound, age-worthy and deeply expressive of place.
