Nestled in the limestone-rich hills of Saint-Emilion, Chateau Beausejour is like so many great estates in Bordeaux, its story one of traditional passed down through generations – and increasingly one where women play a defining role in vineyard management, winemaking and leadership within the wine industry. Ninth generation viticulturalist Josephine Duggau-Lagarrosse took the helm of this jewel of an estate alongside Prisca Courtin owner of the beauty empire Clarins. Croix de Beausejour is their rare second wine from the lower slopes that separate Beausejour from Chateau Angelus. Only 9,000 bottles produced. The wine is beautifully poised with ripe blackberry and plum, layered with violet and baking spice.
