Description
A beautifully textured, dry Pinot Gris from Weinbach’s Clos des Capucins vineyard in Kayserberg. Weinbach farms biodynamically and ferments with indigenous yeasts, the wine is aged in old oak foudres. Rich and expressive, with ripe peach, pear and yellow fruit, followed by hints of hazelnut, cardamom and subtle smoke. The palate is broad and silky but distinctly dry with bright acidity providing lift and a long, smoky finish. The old vine fruit and foudre ageing add plenty of texture without making the wine tast oaky.
Great with roast poultry, veal dishes, mushrooms and richer fish. ALso good with Asian or spicy food.
