Description
Alois Lageder has a rich, family owned heritage spanning 6 generations. The family have a holistic approach viticulture, the vineyards are cultivated biodynamically. Grapes for this wine come from the finest, carefully selected parcels on the Lowengang estate in Magré at 230-330m above sea level. The soils are sandy and gravelly with a high content of limestone, which is renowned for imparting elegance into the Chardonnay wines. Wild yeasts and the wine is aged on fine lees for 11 months in barrique which imparts a rich and creamy texture to the wine. This is a full bodied Chardonnay with pronounced aromas of pear and stone fruit, layered with delicious buttery notes. Fresh, with mineral notes and delicate oak nuances through to a long finish.
